Brand Development

Branding is an important part of an extended visual identity and needs to show the flexibility of the logo and any other visual devices as well as being instantly recognisable for its structure as belonging to a particular system.

Our branding service incorporates various elements, stretching from initial logo generation, typography systems and colour palettes to implemented design manuals and branding resource extranets for the worldwide roll-out of branded templates, visual resources and information design. Because the process of branding will mean that a visual identity will have to be applied to any number of different situations, it is important to ensure that a strong set of brand values and visual standards are created before applying them.

We spend a long time developing our design manuals and guidelines to make sure an initial identity system will work at vastly different sizes, on a variety of coloured backgrounds, in different lighting conditions (mainly for outdoor signage systems and livery) and delivery mechanisms such as television, standard computer monitors and large scale public displays. At some point any branding system you develop will have to work in any number of situations, so we start from a strong base so that it is easy to develop internal and external branding to any requirements.

We have a heavy background in typography which helps us to recognise the microscopic levels of detail that can make a difference between a strong and successful brand and an identity which is not right.
