Think Incorporated
Design & Media
Think Inc. believes there are two main ingredients to understanding the vitally important issue of Information Design. A discipline that is required for any design based project whether it be for print or screen based media. Detailed below are the two ingredients Think Inc. focus on and how we believe they affect our final solutions.
Usability
Usability is the measure of the quality of the user experience when Interacting with a website or screen media. The statement above may sound like 'emperor's clothes' but it is one of the most important issues to bear in mind when commissioning someone to create your new online presence, if a user can't use your website then they won't use it.
Good usability design improves sales on e-commerce websites, helps customers, staff and business partners find the information they need from organisation websites, and improve sales and awareness for your business on brochure sites.
Think Inc. takes the subject of Usability for all screen media very seriously and aim to produce the most effective interfaces for your target audience. The methods we use to create our solutions rely upon our detailed knowledge of typography, our first hand experiences working alongside usability specialists and the extensive research we put into the best user centered (target audience i.e. teenage rockers) solution for each project.
The processes Think goes through can be summarised by focusing on the following areas:
- Wire frames (page mock-ups of individual screens) of the interface
- Careful consideration of the site's intended content and intended audience
- Scenarios of use
- Technical constraints
- Site/project mapping i.e. details on how many pages and what will be in them
Typographic design
Typography is the mathematical manipulation of lettering and letterforms. It is the intricate element of design that is the difference between a well-read passage of text and design that is difficult to understand.
The importance of good typographic design as the basis for any project or creative piece cannot be underestimated. Our design team has all been classically trained in typography and have more than 16 years combined experience in adapting this for use in electronic publishing and screen media.
We have spent a great deal of time analysing the best use of typography for user interaction in both print and screen media, dedicated to ensuring that all of our design work effectively communicates to its audience using this specialised skill, whilst remaining visually striking.
